Food Lovers

Located in the beautiful Pendle countryside, a stay at The Alma Inn is a real treat for ‘Foodies’ with award-winning food that places great emphasis on quality, local and seasonal ingredients.

Our Food

Our award winning menu of British pub classics and seafood specials celebrates seasonal and regional produce.

The Alma Inn is especially passionate about seafood, making the most of the day’s catch on the special’s boards. Special events are held regularly including Champagne Dinners, Lobster & Friends, Seafood Dinners, and Steak Nights which are all foodie evenings including tasting menus, sharing platters, cooking demonstrations and producer presentations. Specific request pre orders can be made and, if in season, will be sourced and prepared to your liking.

Whether it’s a pie and a pint on a Tuesday night or Specials and Champagne at the weekend, we want to be your pub of choice for every occasion. .

Afternoon Tea

Whether it is jam first, cream second or cream first, jam second – The Alma Inn offers a delightful afternoon tea for two. With a choice of delicious sandwiches, sausage rolls and Lancashire cheese & onion tartlets, plus a divine range of sweet treats – this is a perfect treat when you stay. Available Monday to Saturday between 12 and 5pm.

Foodie Trips

Holmes Mill

Holmes Mill is home to Bowland Food Hall – a foodie’s paradise that showcases fine, healthy and tasty food and drink from producers, farmers and growers in Bowland, Lancashire and beyond. With the provenance of the produce at the heart of everything on sale, the Food Hall is part farm shop, part deli, part juice bar and part health food shop.

On the same site is Bowland Brewery where a range of ales are brewed (and can be sampled!) as well as The Beer Hall, which is home to one of the longest bars in Britain, stocking 42 hand pulls and a minimum of 24 individual cask beers at any one time. A 30 minute drive from the Alma Inn.

Skipton Pork Pies

Stanforth Butchers are the makers of the world-famous Skipton pork Pie. Established pre-war by Jim Stanforth, he soon became well known in the town for the delicious pork pies he was making. Fast forward 80 years at the same shop, following the same traditional recipe, these sought-after pies are much-loved by the people of Skipton and the many visitors to the town. A 10 mile drive from The Alma Inn.
